That's when we found Mohawk Products. Their line of consumer touch upwards and repair products has been great for us with fixing gouges and damage in forest furniture.

A few years agone, nosotros scored a not bad deal on ii Campaign side table dressers. We refinished them and they look astonishing.

Luckily, Mohawk has an awesome Epoxy Putty Stick that was perfect for this task.

How to use epoxy putty

With the Epoxy Putty Stick, you lot can cut off exactly the amount of cloth you need for your furniture blemish.

I removed the silver cap, cut off what nosotros needed and replaced the cap to keep it fresh.

Then with the office that was cut off, I molded it in my manus to actuate the epoxy inside.

Then, I simply shaped the putty into the corner of the dresser where I needed it to be and and so smoothed it out.

How to fix a missing chunk of woods

Yous want to fill the gouge without too much backlog. Y'all tin can use a putty pocketknife to get it smooth or just use your fingers.

Unlike wood putty and forest filler that shrinks, epoxy putty holds its shape even after it dries.

The putty was dry completely by morning and like a new corner.

The Epoxy Putty Stick comes in a range of colors depending on the woods you're fixing.

Since we had a blue piece of furniture, we opted to use the white color, simply needed to now lucifer it to the rest of the dresser.

We could have painted it, just nosotros long ago got rid of the pigment from this project.

Luckily, we used another Mohawk product chosen the Ultra Marker.

The Ultra Marker is a wood stain mark that allows y'all to touch upwardly chips, scratches or dinged edges.

Luckily, there are approximately 957 colors of the Ultra Marking, so we were able to select the Royal Bluish Ultra Mark which very closely resembled the color of the dresser.

We were able to match the wood surrounding the epoxy actually well, and using the pen is super easy and quick drying.

Results

Wood gouge repair sounds actually scary, merely it is really an like shooting fish in a barrel procedure if you have the right materials!

You tin can't fifty-fifty tell that the dresser used to have a chipped corner. The repaired spot actually blends in with the surrounding forest!

The Epoxy Putty and Ultra Marker from Mohawk Products really helped make this project a breeze.

This method worked well on this large damaged area and can too exist used on deep scratches and dings!
